Melbourne man’s ‘before and after’ coronavirus video goes viral on TikTok

A TikTok user has shared a before and after video comparing the beginning of the year to the end of Melbourne‘s coronavirus lockdown.

Ben Klein’s viral video began with his first picture of 2020 – a happy snap showcasing crowds at a festival and the city’s skyline.

Mr Klein smiled in the photo as he lifted a red cup to celebrate the beginning of a new year.

He was dressed in a white linen button-up, paired with beige chino shorts.

The TikTok video then jumped to ‘now’, where Mr Klein had dressed himself in the same summer outfit.

He appeared unable to button up his shirt and shorts of the ensemble as he had in January.

‘And that’s on six months of Melbourne lockdown,’ he captioned the post.

The video, on his profile benny.klein, has been viewed 1.1million times and has more than 130,000 likes.

‘I love this trend, I don’t feel alone,’ one TikTok user commented.

‘Right there with you! I think Melbourne needs some free workout classes,’ another wrote.

A third said: ‘Omg same, nothing fits me anymore!’

Melbourne endured 112 brutal days of lockdown after a second wave of coronavirus ripped through the city.

Victoria has now gone 20 days without a fresh COVID-19 infection.
