Mother arrested after allegedly stabbing her own son in Bellevue HIll in Sydney’s eastern suburbs

A mother screamed ‘I love you’ before she was marched out of her home by police after allegedly stabbing her son in a violent argument.

Samantha Palmer, 55, was arrested after her son Hugo Ball was found with stab wounds at their home at Bellevue Hill in Sydney’s eastern suburbs about 1.30am on Saturday.

The 22-year-old was was treated at the scene before being carried out in a stretcher to St Vincent’s Hospital in a serious condition.  

His mother’s gut-wrenching screams rang out throughout the wealthy suburb as emergency services flooded the $3.1million home.  

‘Darling!’ she was overheard sobbing as police restrained her.

‘I love you!’ 

She was arrested at the property and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.  

Neighbour Max Myer said he had never heard anything like it in the usually quiet suburb. 

‘I heard a woman’s voice shouting, first of all quietly then increasingly loudly,’ Mr Myer told Nine News. 

‘I’ve lived here for about three years and I haven’t experienced anything like that.’ 

New South Wales Ambulance Inspector Giles Buchanan said the boy was in bad shape when they found him, according to the Daily Telegraph.

‘He received a stab wound to the left arm, right shoulder and also in his back,’ he said.

‘Initially he had very low blood pressure, indicating he’d got a significant amount of bleeding going on and also the locations of the wounds can be fatal.’ 

The 22-year-old is a former Scots College student and a skilled boxer.  

Ms Palmer is due to face Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday after being refused bail.
