School in lockdown after boy, 14, is stabbed multiple times in the back 

A high school was sent into urgent lockdown after a teenage boy was stabbed in the back.

The student, 14, was attacked at Arthur Phillip High School in Parramatta, western Sydney, at about 8.30am on Monday morning. 

Four NSW Ambulance crews were sent to the school on Macquarie Street and treated the 14-year-old for multiple stab wounds to his back and arm.

‘He was treated for multiple stab wounds,’ a NSW Ambulance spokesman told Daily Mail Australia.   

The 14-year-old was taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a stable condition. 

Officers from the Parramatta Police Area Command have established a crime scene at the school.

NSW Police also commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A search of the surrounding area is currently underway and no arrests have been made.

It is understood classes have now resumed at the school.
