Wallet washes up on a beach in Lennox Head 26 years after its owner lost it on New Year’s Eve

A man has been reunited with his wallet after losing it 26 years ago while celebrating New Year’s Eve.

Paul Davis was partying at a beach in 1994, ready to ring in the new year at Lennox Head, northern NSW when he lost his wallet.

Twenty-six years later, his wallet washed up on a beach completely worn after years out at sea.

Photos shared to Facebook earlier this week show Mr Davis’ credit card, Medicare, TAFE card and a $5 note still inside.

Determined to find its rightful owner, the founder shared the post to local Facebook groups in hopes of finding Mr Davis.

The founder was then contacted by Mr Davis’ wife and a meeting has been organised later in the week where the wallet will be returned to him.

Mr Davis said he plans to frame it in his bar despite its weathered look.
