‘This one took a bit longer because I couldn’t get enough coals from the little stove,’ she said.

The recipe calls for cream cheese, cream, sour cream, chives, cheddar cheese, onion and bacon.

The home-cook shared pictures of the ingredients, the cob loaf resting in the camp oven, it cooking over and under coals.

HOW CAN I MAKE CAMPFIRE COB LOAF?

 INGREDIENTS

 1 cob loaf

250g cream cheese

3/4 cup of sour cream

3/4 cup of cream

Salt and pepper

 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese

2Tb chives

1 small onion diced

200g diced bacon

 METHOD

Fry off bacon and onion then add the rest of the ingredients and stir well. Take the bread from the middle of the loaf, leaving a bowl about. Spoon the mixture into the loaf.

Put the loaf into the camp oven, after lining the oven with baking paper.

Put the bread from the inside of the load in the oven as well.

Put the lid on the oven and put hot coals on top, make sure there is a low heat on the bottom of the oven as well.

It should take about 30 minutes to cook.
