This is the moment a mass brawl erupts inside Asda as hooded thugs smash each other with bottles of wine in front of horrified shoppers.

Footage shows around eight men headbutting and kicking each other inside the entrance area before the brawl spills into the store.

A security guard can be seen standing in the background while terrified onlookers repeatedly shout ‘stop’ at the group, who do not appear to be wearing face masks.

The clip was shared to social media this morning, and was filmed at the supermarket’s branch in Isle of Dogs, East London.

The video has been passed on to local officers to investigate further, according to the Met Police.

No arrests have been made and a man was taken to hospital after suffering non-life- threatening injuries, said the force. 

Asda is also looking into the incident and thanked colleagues for their ‘quick response’ in phoning the police.

Signs and card stands are captured being knocked over during the fight, before one man tries to hit another over the head with what appears to be a wine bottle. 

A woman’s voice is heard shouting ‘don’t do it, no, no, no’ as the man holds up an arm to defend himself from the attack.

Another person holding a bottle in each hand then chases the man before throwing one of the containers, which smashes on the ground.   

Shoppers can be seen looking on in shock at the altercation while keeping their distance. 

Towards the end of the footage, those involved in the fight leave the store while staff wearing Asda uniforms follow behind them.  

The video was posted to Twitter, captioned: ‘Meanwhile this happened in Asda in the Isle of Dogs…’ 

A Met Police spokesperson commented underneath the tweet: ‘Morning, we are (aware) of the video and it has been passed to local officers to look into further.’

In a statement, the force said: ‘Police were called to East Ferry Road, E14, at 22:35hrs on Thursday, 18 February, to reports of a fight involving a number of males at a commercial premises.

‘It was reported bottles were being used as weapons.

‘Officers attended, along with London Ambulance Service [LAS], and found one male injured.

‘Paramedics treated him at the scene before he was taken to an east London hospital for further care. His injuries are not life-threatening.

‘No arrests; enquiries ongoing.’

A spokesperson for Asda told MailOnline: ‘We do not tolerate violence in our stores and we are thankful to our colleagues for their quick response in calling the police.’
