While many of us are familiar with cleaning our shower screens, taps and baths, a professional cleaner has revealed an area of your shower that you might be neglecting to polish.
Kacie, from Melbourne, said the ‘strip’ at the bottom of nearly every shower can easily build up with dirt and grime, and many don’t know you can remove it and easily clean or replace it.
The cleaning influencer demonstrated how you can clean this tiny part of your shower with ease in her latest TikTok video.

Kacie explained that you can often easily remove a shower strip, but if you never have and it’s been there for a while it may need a bit of pressure (pictured in process)
‘Here’s a little something you might be neglecting when you clean your shower,’ the cleaner posted.
‘There is a plastic strip at the bottom [of your shower].’
Kacie explained that you can often easily remove this strip, but if you never have and it’s been there for a while it may need a bit of pressure.
‘Once it’s off you can clean it,’ she said. ‘You can soak it, brush it, whatever.’
And if it’s ‘past cleaning’, Kacie added you can easily get rid of it and replace it with a new part.
Shower strips can be bought cheaply from discount hardware store Bunnings Warehouse.
The cleaner said you can soak it or brush it, but if it’s past cleaning, it can also be replaced with a similar one from Bunnings Warehouse (pictured in process)
More than 250,000 people who saw the clip said they were ‘amazed’ and had never considered cleaning or replacing their shower ‘strip’ before.
‘I never knew this came off, you learn something new every day,’ one commenter posted.
‘Oh my God, this has changed my life, thank you so much,’ another added.
A few said they already clean their shower strip, but the vast majority said they didn’t know, with many saying they had been ‘driven mad wondering what to do about it for ages’.

Previously, another Melbourne mum revealed how you can clean your shower screen with her homemade cleaner.
The Australian woman, who goes by Mama Mila online, said that her recipe keeps glass on shower screens, pool fences and windows ‘sparkling for months’, and all you need are a few household ingredients.
Posting on TikTok, Chantel Mila said you will need to mix one cup of white vinegar, half a cup of dishwashing liquid and one cup of water into a plastic container.
She then recommends you use a $2 window squeegee to spread the liquid over your glass surfaces:
‘This solution is great at removing soap scum, water marks and residue,’ Chantel wrote alongside her video.
‘Our shower screens are new and clean so we’re doing it on our windows!’
The final step to Chantel’s trick is to spread a few spritzes of water repellent over the glass once you have finished.
‘Bonus tip – apply a water repellent,’ she wrote.
Chantel’s water repellent is from Bunnings Warehouse.
