A dad breaks down detailing the alleged sexual assault by her Sydney swim coach, 22

A father has broken down sobbing after detailing the alleged abuse his young daughter was subject to at the hands of her Sydney swimming teacher.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was travelling on a bus to work in Sydney’s CBD when he received a phone call from his wife telling him to come home immediately.

After walking home ‘as quick as I could’ he was told by his partner that their daughter had just said she had been touched on the private parts in the pool during class.

Kyle Daniels, 22, has pleaded not guilty to 26 charges, including multiple counts of having sexual intercourse with a child under 10 and indecently assaulting a person under 16 (pictured at a November court appearance centre with his parents)

‘I said to her ‘are you OK? … you are brave for telling me’. I said I needed to call the police,’ he told the District Court on Thursday.

‘She did say that the instructor had gone under her costume with his fingers and sometimes … fingers went inside her,’ the man said while wiping tears away.

At this point the Crown paused while the man held his face as sobs could be heard while Judge Kara Shead called for a short break.

After some time he added: ‘I think she said when it first started … she said it happened all the time’.

‘She said it happened every lesson.’

The couple had shown their children a video explaining ‘private parts’ and what was appropriate after seeing news reports that a teacher at their children’s swimming school had been arrested.

Not long afterwards their daughter opened up to her mother about what she said happened to her while other students were close-by.

The trial continues.

The court last week heard that parents had raised concerns about Daniels' behaviour to staff at Mosman Swim Centre (pictured) before police got involved
